What we do

We provide strategic negotiating advice to parties in public-private negotiations, underpinned by multidisciplinary analysis and deep negotiating experience. Our experienced mediators unblock negotiations and unlock value for all parties. We also help organisations to learn the lessons after a major negotiation, ensuring they emerge stronger and fully prepared for those to come.

Whether you’re preparing to negotiate, or your current negotiations have reached a crisis point, we have the tools to help you navigate it successfully.

Strategic negotiating advice

We advise on all elements of developing and implementing a negotiation strategy, underpinned by multidisciplinary analysis and deep negotiating experience.

Throughout the process, we help you to build and maintain consensus with your own stakeholders. We can also project manage the negotiation work programme, to reduce your execution risk.

  • We help build strategies for successful negotiation backed by our political, economic, and financial analysis, stakeholder mapping, stakeholder perspectives analysis.

  • We help prepare your negotiating team for maximum effectiveness, using the emergent strategy to rehearse approaches, refine scenario planning and ensure full preparedness.

  • We support negotiations in and out of the room, to help you make key judgements on managing concessions, back channels, moves away from the table, and the endgame.

Mediation

Effective and confidential mediation, rooted in an understanding of both sides, offers a form of ‘assisted negotiation’ to cut through conflict and get the process back on track where negotiations have broken down.

Our team of experienced, professional, and internationally-accredited mediators design and implement tailored processes to help disputing parties reach agreement – facilitating joint problem-solving and better outcomes.

We follow the European Code of Conduct for Mediators.

Lessons learned reviews

Negotiation is not a battle; it’s a process of discovery.  Yet many organisations, emerging exhausted from a major negotiation, fail to fully mine the rich seam of learning it presents.  Doing so risks leaving money on the table in the next negotiation.

We address this by supporting you to interpret and assess what happened, backed by an expert and objective sounding board, ensuring the right lessons are learned.  Our guiding principle is to leave your organisation stronger – and prepared to perform still better in its next negotiation.

We go beyond table tactics, drawing from top negotiation experts and Harvard's '3D' framework, tailored for public-private negotiations with multidisciplinary insights and deep public sector understanding gained across jurisdictions.
